WHAT TYPES OF RIVERS DO YOU RUN?

Class II Rio Ansu: Basically a flatwater stretch ideal for observing the incredible diversity of bird species in the area. Over 500 species have been identified locally. Rivers are natural corridors through the rainforest allowing easy travel where otherwise it would be difficult to get around. A few small splashy rapids keep you from overheating

Class III Rio Jatunyacu: In the Quichua language "Jatunyacu" means big water and this river lives up to it's name. A full day of big waves and rainforest scenery. A perfect introduction to rafting the tropical rivers of Ecuador.

Class IV+ Misahualli: This run is for those that want a little more action and remoteness in their rivers. Currently the most difficult commercial trip in Ecuador, this is best enjoyed by physically fit and adventurous people. This canyon passes through primary forest with parrakeet flocks, Oropendulas, sloths and other wildlife viewing possibilities.

Kayak School: Tropical rivers are so conducive to learning to kayak. You simply cannot learn the skills neccessary without swimming and being underwater a bit. Warm water invites you to play in it, which leads to faster learning and more fun. Tena has a collection of rivers nearby which offer perfect beginner, intermediate and advanced sections to learn on. Instruction is tailored to your ability and a supportive learning environment is of utmost importance. If you've ever thought this exciting sport would be fun to learn, there's no better place to do it.
