CAMPING

Your personal hotel room, wherever you want it!

If you prefer the fabric of a tent to the walls of a hotel, then planning time for you to spend outdoors is a must for us as well! You can opt for a hiking trip with guides and porters to carry the heavy stuff, or load up a backpack and set off down the trail, end point TBD. Camping out is one of the best ways to fully immerse yourself in your South American adventure, taking it all in twenty-four hours a day. No matter the adventure, the nights spent in camp will be a cherished part of your vacation!

Ecuador

Our most popular wilderness-style adventure is our DEEP AMAZON TRIP in Ecuador. Fly in to a small, dirt landing strip in the middle of the Amazon and continue downstream by canoe for several days. Camping on beaches along the way, it’s an awesome experience for travelers looking for rugged adventure in the heart of the Amazon.

When to go: During ‘less-wet’ months (Jan-Feb & Aug-Dec), the Amazon river has more beaches exposed, allowing for an easier camping experience. During the rainy months (Mar-July), the river swells and all camping is done under the canopy of the jungle for an even more rugged adventure.

HIKING - MACHU PICCHU - PERU, South America

Peru

Taking the long road to Machu Picchu is the most authentic way to truly experience this lost city in the clouds. For the ultimate adventure, you can camp out along the way, just like the Incas. The days are spent hiking the Inca trail and at night you can look up and swap stories written in the stars.

When to go: Except for February, where the trails are closed for maintenance, any time is a great time to go to Machu Picchu. The peak tourist season is April through October during Peru’s version of winter. However, travelling during the summer/rainy season, December through April, is a great way to avoid crowds and save on airfare.
