Trip Overview
Enjoy a visit to the Andes for some active adventures, like mountain biking or horseback riding, before flying into a region of Amazon rainforest with abundant wildlife to be seen. Full days by foot and canoe in search of monkeys and other rainforest animals along with giant river otters, fresh water dolphin and anaconda. Meet indigenous people and gain insight into their commitment to conservation of wilderness and Amazon wildlife for visitor viewing.
This is a sample itinerary, which we have put together to give you an idea of what a trip might look like. However our strength is in creating custom trips for each and every client so we look forward to adapting this itinerary to your groups interests and abilities!

International arrival to Quito, private transfer to accommodations and a free evening to explore.
Day 2 – Andes Full Day Adventure Activity

You can choose between hiking, horseback riding or downhill mountain biking in the shadow of a 19,000+ foot volcano. Get ready for a full day of adventure in the clear mountain air.
Day 3 – Andes Activities

Second day of Andes adventure, do more of the same or try out a new sport! Return to Quito in the late afternoon, in time to sort your gear for the next leg of the trip.
Day 4 – Travel the Rainforest

Travel via Cessna plane to a small rainforest airport and transfer to a large dugout motor canoe for a few hours downstream. Meet up with a tributary and do a short walk or a dugout paddle canoe to your accommodations for the next few days. Settle in, explore the grounds and begin to acclimate your wildlife viewing eyes to this new and wild environment.

Days will primarily be spent in search of wildlife by foot and dugout canoe, learning from your indigenous guide about the many useful plants of the rainforest and the indigenous traditions.
Climb a tower over 100 feet into a kapok tree above the canopy to witness the rainforest transitioning into dusk or in the early morning starting out the daytime activity. You may visit a parrot or parakeet clay lick where hundreds of these colorful birds descend to eat the clay which neutralizes the toxins from the plants that they eat.
Paddle and hike on remote trails, eat delicious meals, fish for piranhas, observe giant caiman crocs, wake up to the sound of howler monkeys and go to sleep to the incredible night chorus of birds and insects. Option for a night hike or paddle. Learn from an English speaking indigenous guide about the region and its inhabitants.
Day 8 – Travel to Quito
Day 8 – Travel to Quito
Return to the city today by canoe, vehicle and flight. Arrive in the afternoon in time to check out some highlights in the colonial section of Quito.
