Saturday, June 29 – Santiago City Tour
After catching up on your rest, enjoy a private guided tour of Santiago, the capital of Chile. The tour will run 3-4 hours and the rest of the day will be free for you to continue to explore or enjoy an afternoon siesta!
Sunday, June 30 – Fly to Mendoza
Morning flight from Santiago to Mendoza, with private transport to and from the airport. After checking in at your hotel, you will enjoy a private guided tour of Mendoza. After visiting all the highlights of the city, enjoy an evening tasting some of Mendoza’s finest wines at Chinitas Wine Bar, owned and operated by your afternoon’s tour guide.
Monday, July 1 – Hands-on Wine Experience
Today is all about the vino, Mendoza’s claim to fame. In the morning you will have an opportunity to learn about how wines are blended and to try your hand at creating a personalized blend at the Kaiken winery. Lunch will be taken at the Lagarde winery, where local chefs prepare a 6-course meal with wine pairings picked out by the house sommelier. The experience continues in the afternoon at the Cruzat vineyard, known for their sparkling wines. You will get to tour their vineyard and have the opportunity to bottle your own bubbly to take home with you or polish off during the eclipse tomorrow!
Tuesday, July 2 – The Solar Eclipse!
Drive to the sleepy town of San Juan, arriving before midday to secure a prime viewing position for the eclipse. Lunch will be served as well as a small collection of wines local to the area so you can begin to distinguish between local varieties. Totality of the eclipse will be achieved around 3:30pm local time, with the eclipse finishing by 5:00 pm. After enjoying your viewing experience, you will return to your hotel in Mendoza.
Wednesday, July 3 – Argentine Cooking Class
Enjoy a slow morning before meeting around lunchtime for a cooking class at the Sin Fin winery. You will learn to cook traditional Argentine dishes, and be able to enjoy your finished product, of course with plenty of delicious wine to complement it!
Thursday, July 4 – Afternoon in the Country
Today you will be treated to an authentically Argentine experience. Start your morning off with a 2-3 hour hike through the Campo (countryside) with a local Gaucho guide. You will end the hike at his small ranch, where he and his family will prepare an authentic Argentine BBQ lunch. Spend the afternoon soaking up the local knowledge of our guide and his community before returning back to Mendoza.
Friday, July 5 – Wine Tastings
Spend the morning at the Pulenta Estate, a beautiful and high class vineyard that has been run by the Pulenta family for three generations. They bring a passion for wine into everything they do and love the opportunity to share this passion with new friends. Lunch will be taken at the Andeluna vineyard, with a dramatic backdrop as the vines give way to the high Andes behind them. Enjoy fresh local cuisine expertly paired with fine Argentine wines. The fun and delicious wine continues in the afternoon at the Domaine Bosquet vineyard, the world’s most awarded organic vineyard.
Saturday, June 6 – International Travel Day
Private transport to the Mendoza airport for an early afternoon flight to Santiago, where you will catch an overnight flight back home, filled with lots of wonderful memories and a deeper understanding of Argentine wines and ways of life.
