Colombia’s new airline, Wingo, a low-cost offshoot of Copa Airlines, now serves Bogotá and 15 other cities. Although the carrier doesn’t fly to the U.S. yet, one-way fares within Latin America are cheap: We found Bogotá to Cartagena for $30, Medellín to Panama City for $90, Bogotá to Mexico City for $164. The hope is that other airlines with similar routes will be forced to lower airfares, which historically have been expensive in the region.
